The First IRCache bake-off was successfully completed in March. Throughout the process, we have learned many things about benchmarking proxy caches. In order to achieve sufficiently high request rates, the client and server machines must be tuned, especially with regards to TCP. It is important to eliminate all assumptions about your hardware and software before trying to interpret any benchmarking results.
In this BOF we will share our interesting lessons and provide tips on both benchmarking methodolgy in general, and hwo to use Polygraph in your own tests.
